A taper lock bushing or hub are used to mount pulleys, sprockets, and sheaves on shafts. They are split, flangeless bushings that use screws to tighten on the shaft and provide excellent clamping force. These bearings also keep sprocket hubs narrow, maintain a small center of load dimension, and stabilize overhung loads. Used in flush mounting, taper locking bushings have evenly spaced installation and removal holes. They are highly effective in high-torque applications when installed correctly.
